Daily bet research report
Daily Bet Research Report โ Sunday, May 31, 2026
Bankroll: $52.56 | Stake (20% AGGRESSIVE): $10.51 | Band: Decimal 1.50+ | Record: 14-4 (77.8%)
Last night's Spurs ML +130 cashed in G7 (111-103) โ bankroll jumped $10.84. Largest single-bet win to date. Five-bet winning streak.
Step 3 โ Schedule Verification
Confirmed games (cross-checked against NBA.com / NHL.com / MLB.com): - MLB only โ full Sunday slate (mostly afternoon, one primetime SNB game) - No NBA tonight โ NBA Finals (Spurs vs Knicks) Game 1 is Wednesday June 3 - No NHL tonight โ Stanley Cup Final (Hurricanes vs Golden Knights) Game 1 is Tuesday June 2
Key MLB games today:
- Royals @ Rangers โ 2:35 PM ET
- Giants @ Rockies โ 3:10 PM ET (Coors Field)
- Yankees @ Athletics โ 4:05 PM ET (Sacramento)
- Phillies @ Dodgers โ 4:10 PM ET
- D-Backs @ Mariners โ 4:10 PM ET
- Cubs @ Cardinals โ 7:20 PM ET on ESPN (Sunday Night Baseball)
Headline read: thin slate, mostly afternoon games
Sunday is a soft betting board for us. The strongest edge plays per multiple models (Cubs ML at +111, Giants/Rockies Over 11.5 at +120) had their edges captured by line movement before now, OR are afternoon games that may already be in progress depending on when you're reading this.
The only primetime game is Cubs/Cardinals SNB, and the line on it has moved against Chicago (was +111 this morning, now -102) โ meaning the easy edge is gone.
Pick #1 โ LEAN: Cubs/Cardinals OVER 8.5 @ ~1.91
Bet: Cubs/Cardinals TOTAL OVER 8.5 runs Decimal odds: ~1.91 (-110 American) Stake: $10.51 โ To win ~$9.55 (returns $20.06)
Step 4 research: - Series context: Sunday Night Baseball, NL Central rivalry; Cubs lead season series - Injury report: No major news - Confirmed starters: Matthew Liberatore (STL 2-3, 4.76 ERA, expected ERA 5.42 = 12th percentile) vs. Jordan Wicks (CHC 0-1, 16.62 ERA, 2.31 WHIP, .409 OBA) โ one of the worst pitching matchups on the board for the under side - Wicks history: Just 2nd start of year; in his last start gave up runs in bulk - Liberatore history: Bottom-tier xERA all year - Pace signal: Cubs are 4th in NL for going over team totals this year; total has cleared in 4 of Cubs' last 5 - Line movement: Total moved from 9 โ 8.5 โ book trimming the over for action, suggests sharp money on over - Cross-source consensus: SportsLine 10K-sim model has Over; expert pieces note pitching mismatch supports plenty of scoring
Edge math: - Implied prob at 1.91 = 52.4% - My estimate: ~57-60% (Wicks' 16.62 ERA + Liberatore xERA in 12th percentile + Cubs' over pattern) - Edge: ~5-7% โ Moderate/Strong tier on the math, but called Lean because: - Cardinals have a tough lineup at home and Wicks may not last past 3 innings (changes pace dynamics) - Total at 8.5 is right at the average pace; one quiet start kills it - Sunday Night games sometimes play tight under spotlight
Risk flags: - Wicks could implode early and the game becomes a blowout in 5 innings (no late runs, total stays low) - Both bullpens have been competent this week
Pick #2 โ LEAN: Chicago Cubs ML @ ~1.98
Bet: Cubs Moneyline (at Cardinals) Decimal odds: ~1.98 (-102 American) Stake: $10.51 โ To win ~$10.30 (returns $20.81)
Step 4 research: - Series context: Cubs lead season series and are higher in standings - Injury report: No major news - Confirmed starters: Wicks vs Liberatore (as above) โ but key wrinkle: Cubs lineup is significantly deeper than Cardinals' and matches up better against Liberatore's contact-management profile - Recent form: Cubs bullpen better metrics than Cards over last 14 days (per Dimers) - Line movement: Cubs were +111 this morning, now -102 โ sharp money has been backing the Cubs into pickem territory but...
Edge math: - Implied prob at 1.98 = 50.5% - Dimers original estimate when line was +111: 52.8% (5.3% edge at the +111 price) - At -102 the implied is now 50.5% โ original edge has been mostly captured - My estimate: ~52-53% (Cubs deeper lineup, Wicks the worse arm but home-field matters) - Edge: ~1.5-3% โ Below threshold (borderline)
Risk flags: - Wicks at 16.62 ERA is a real liability โ could give up 4+ runs in 3 IP - Line movement to -102 means the edge that existed at +111 has been mostly priced in
Pick #3 โ SKIP / Holding fire
The afternoon games (Giants/Rockies Over 11.5, Yankees/A's Over 9.5, Phillies/Dodgers) are either already underway or have edges below our 3% threshold per current pricing.
My recommendation: skip-day or take Pick #1 (Over 8.5) only.
Tonight's the lull before two big nights (Stanley Cup Final G1 Tuesday, NBA Finals G1 Wednesday). Bankroll preservation here matters more than chasing a 1.5-3% edge on a coin-flip ML.
Plays considered, not making the cut
- Cubs ML @ -102: Edge was real at +111 (this morning) but line has moved; ~1.5-3% edge now is below our 3% bar.
- Giants/Rockies Over 11.5: Dimers had it at 6.1% edge, but afternoon (3:10 PM ET) game may be underway.
- Yankees/A's Over 9.5: 2.0% edge below threshold.
- Liberatore Under K total: Don't have line confirmed; Liberatore averages low K so any "Under" line is well-priced.
Big picture
After tonight, we have a 2-night break, then Tuesday June 2 = Stanley Cup Final Game 1 (Hurricanes -fav vs Vegas) and Wednesday June 3 = NBA Finals Game 1 (Spurs vs Knicks). Both are massive opportunities to find injury-tweaked lines like we got with the Spurs G7.
If you want to bank the streak and skip tonight, that's defensible. If you take Pick #1 (Over 8.5), it's the cleanest edge on tonight's primetime board.
Tell me what you took (or skip) and the actual price.
