Step 3 โ€” Schedule Verification

MLB Wednesday slate

Marquee matchups: - โš  TOR @ SF, 3:45 PM ET โ€” Cease vs Webb (may already be started by ping time) - NYY @ TB, 6:40 PM ET โ€” Cole vs McClanahan โญโญโญ ALL-STAR PITCHING DUEL - HOU @ WSH, 6:45 PM ET โ€” Phillips vs Kirby - KC @ NYM, 7:10 PM ET โ€” Griffin vs Arrighetti - LAA @ TEX, 8:05 PM ET โ€” Urena vs Gore - Plus 5 other evening games

World Cup โ€” REST DAY

R16 wrapped 7/7 (SUI/COL). Quarterfinals begin Thursday 7/9 (Morocco vs France). No WC games today.

Step 4 โ€” Per-Game Research

NYY @ TB (6:40 PM, Tropicana Field) โญ

Confirmed starters โ€” BOTH ALL-STARS: - Shane McClanahan (TB, 7-5, 3.05 ERA) โ€” elite lefty - Gerrit Cole (NYY, 3-3, 4.01 ERA) โ€” All-Star, but middling season

Records: - Rays 53-36 (won 7/7 vs us +$36.03, on huge run) - Yankees 50-41 (still in slump zone but pushed back some) - 13-game record gap (up from 10 yesterday)

Lines triangulated: - Rays -120 to -130 (decimal 1.77-1.83), Yankees +101 to +110 (2.01-2.10) - Total: 7.5 with both sides -110 (~1.91) - Combined ERA 7.06

Read: Same template that produced Bet #43, #44, #45. Home fav, better record, McClanahan pitching edge over Cole. Would be Rays play #3 in six days โ€” worth noting for concentration, but math still holds.

LAA @ TEX (8:05 PM, Globe Life Field)

Starters: - Walbert Urena (LAA, 5-7, 3.03 ERA) โ€” actually the better arm - MacKenzie Gore (TEX, 5-7, 4.31 ERA)

Records: TEX 46-45, LAA 36-56 (worst in league) Lines: Rangers -166 (decimal 1.60), Angels +140 (2.40), Total 7.5

Read: Interesting spot โ€” Angels have the better pitcher on paper (Urena 3.03 vs Gore 4.31, 1.28 ERA gap), but Angels have worst record in MLB. Line at Rangers -166 respects the team gap. Angels +140 (2.40) has value if you think pitching-edge trumps team gap. True Angels win probability ~44-48% vs implied 41.7% โ†’ +3-6% edge.

TOR @ SF (3:45 PM, Oracle Park) โš  TIMING RISK

Starters โ€” TWO ALL-STARS: - Dylan Cease (TOR, 5-4, 2.79 ERA) - Logan Webb (SF, 5-6, 3.66 ERA)

Lines: Blue Jays -122 (decimal 1.82), Total 7.0 - Model projects Over 8.2 despite pitchers (recent series went 10-1, 9-3)

Read: Elite pitching but model likes Over. Skip if already started. If bookable, TOR ML at 1.82 has small edge (pitching edge > team edge; TOR 43-49 vs SF 38-53 only 5-game gap). Modest play.

Step 5 โ€” Edge Math & Pick Selection (TWO-LENS, 3 OPTIONS EACH)

LENS 1 โ€” MAX-EV PLAYS

EV Option A โ€” STRONG: Rays ML @ ~1.83 โญ (Running back the winner)

Stake: $34.91 โ†’ returns $63.89, profit $28.98

Edge math: - Implied at 1.83 = 54.6% - True estimate: ~60-63% (hot streak, home, McClanahan edge over Cole, 13-game record gap widened) - Edge: +5-8% โ†’ Strong - EV: 0.615 ร— $28.98 โˆ’ 0.385 ร— $34.91 = +$4.39

Streak history on this template: - Bet 37 Brewers ML โ†’ WIN +$24.50 โœ“ - Bet 43 Rays ML โ†’ WIN +$15.74 โœ“ - Bet 44 Brewers ML โ†’ WIN +$20.53 โœ“ - Bet 45 Rays SGP โ†’ WIN +$36.03 โœ“ - 4-for-4 on road/home-favorite ML with pitching or record edge

Concentration flag: Third Rays play in six days. Math still supports it but note the concentration if variance hits.

EV Option B โ€” MODERATE-STRONG: Angels ML @ ~2.40 (contrarian)

Stake: $34.91 โ†’ returns $83.78, profit $48.87

Edge math: - Implied at 2.40 = 41.7% - Urena 3.03 ERA vs Gore 4.31 ERA โ€” 1.28 ERA gap favors Angels - True estimate: ~44-48% (pitching edge partially offsets team gap) - Edge: +3-6% โ†’ Moderate-Strong - EV: 0.46 ร— $48.87 โˆ’ 0.54 ร— $34.91 = +$3.63

Why this qualifies: Better ERA vs worse team = classic mispricing. Rangers-166 respects the team-quality gap too heavily. If pitching wins the day, Angels have value.

Risk flag: LAA is 36-56 (worst in MLB). Losing a lot for a reason โ€” beyond just pitching.

EV Option C โ€” SPECULATIVE: Rays manufactured-boost SGP

Construction (repeat of last night's winner): - Leg 1: Rays ML @ 1.83 - Leg 2: Under 13.5 runs @ ~1.06 (game rarely goes 14+) - Leg 3: McClanahan Over 5.5 K @ ~1.50 (averages 9+ K/9)

Naive: 1.83 ร— 1.06 ร— 1.50 = 2.91 De-rate ~10%: ~2.62 With 30% boost: ~3.10

True: 0.615 ร— 0.95 ร— 0.65 = ~38% At 3.10 boosted implied 32.3% โ†’ Edge +5.7%

EV at 3.10 boosted: 0.38 ร— $73.20 โˆ’ 0.62 ร— $34.91 = +$5.97 โญ

Basically the exact same construction that just won us $36.03. If boost available, this beats straight ML on EV.

LENS 2 โ€” MAX-HIT-RATE PLAYS

HR Option A โ€” DUAL LENS: Rays ML @ 1.83

Same as EV Option A. 62% hit + real edge = convergence pick. - Best play on both dimensions today - Hit rate: ~62%, EV: +$4.39

HR Option B โ€” HIGH HIT: Rays team total Over 3.5 @ ~1.50

Stake: $34.91 โ†’ returns $52.37, profit $17.46

Edge math: - Implied at 1.50 = 66.7% - Rays averaging 5.2 R/game on this streak - True estimate: ~70-73% - Edge: +3-6% โ†’ Moderate - Hit rate: ~72% - EV: 0.72 ร— $17.46 โˆ’ 0.28 ร— $34.91 = +$2.80

Removes ML variance โ€” just need Rays to score 4+ runs, not necessarily win.

HR Option C โ€” HIGHER HIT with tighter edge: Rays -1.5 alt spread @ ~2.55 (skip) โ€” or NYY/TB Under 8.5 @ ~1.50

Bet: NYY/TB Total UNDER 8.5 runs (alt line from 7.5) Stake: $34.91 โ†’ returns $52.37, profit $17.46

Edge math: - Implied at 1.50 = 66.7% - Combined 7.06 ERA โ€” game rarely goes 9+ with two All-Stars - True estimate: ~70-73% - Edge: +3-6% โ†’ Moderate - Hit rate: ~72% - EV: 0.72 ร— $17.46 โˆ’ 0.28 ร— $34.91 = +$2.80

Alt Under gives cushion โ€” 8.5 runs is high bar for elite starters. But note: Bets 41 and 42 were both Under-anchor losses (variance-heavy).

Plays considered, not making the cut

My recommendation

Two-lens matrix

# Option Lens Decimal Hit Rate EV Profit
A Rays ML Max-EV / Dual โญ 1.83 62% +$4.39 $28.98
B Angels ML (contrarian) Max-EV 2.40 46% +$3.63 $48.87
C Rays SGP w/boost Max-EV speculative ~3.10 38% +$5.97 โญ $38.29
D Rays ML (dual) Max-Hit-Rate 1.83 62% +$4.39 $28.98
E Rays team total O3.5 Max-Hit-Rate 1.50 72% +$2.80 $17.46
F NYY/TB Under 8.5 Max-Hit-Rate 1.50 72% +$2.80 $17.46

The honest call

Convergence pick: Rays ML @ 1.83 (Option A/D). Same template that's now 4-for-4. Third Rays play in six days โ€” concentration flag noted, but math holds. Cole is a middling 4.01 ERA arm, McClanahan is a 3.05 elite ace, Rays are home and hot, 13-game record gap.

Higher-EV variant: Rays SGP with 30% boost (Option C, EV +$5.97). Almost identical construction to last night's winning ticket. If bet365 still has boost available, this is the higher-EV play.

Contrarian play: Angels ML @ 2.40 (Option B). Only take if you want the diversification โ€” Rays play would be #3 in a week, this breaks the pattern. Real edge but 46% hit rate.

Wildcard tonight โ€” three Rays plays in six days concentration risk. The math says take it. The bankroll says take it (recovery arc, riding a winning streak). But if you want to spread bets, Option B (Angels ML) is the diversifier that also has real edge.

My lean: Rays ML or Rays SGP (with boost), depending on boost availability. Don't overthink a winning template.

Tell me what you book.
