WNBA slate today (Aces @ Liberty 12:30 PM, Mercury @ Mystics 3:00 PM, Wings @ Lynx 3:30 PM, Valkyries @ Sparks 7:00 PM) was not deep-dived β€” MLB slate already produced 5 clean positive-EV plays and the report window was tight. Flagging for future coverage if the MLB slate ever thins out on a Sunday.

Est. Odds converted from American to decimal per house rule. Marlins ML priced from a blended range (-144 to -151 across books); Rangers/Giants/Phillies priced off FanDuel's posted lines. Where a total/spread number wasn't available across at least 2 corroborating sources with enough confidence to size an edge, it's marked No play rather than guessed.

Section 3: My Recommendations

# Option Lens Est. Odds Hit Rate EV
1 Angels @ Marlins β€” Marlins ML Max-EV / Max-Hit-Rate (convergence) 1.68 66% $5.75
2 Tigers @ Giants β€” Giants ML Max-EV 2.02 55% $6.35
3 Braves @ Yankees β€” Total Under 8.5 Max-EV 1.83 58% $3.24
4 Orioles @ Rangers β€” Rangers ML Max-EV / Max-Hit-Rate (convergence) 1.75 62% $4.44
5 Blue Jays @ Phillies β€” Phillies ML Max-Hit-Rate 1.50 69% $2.17

Section 4: Reasoning

1. Marlins ML (-148ish, 1.68 decimal). This is the clearest edge on the board. numberFire has Miami winning 67.7% of the time against a last-place Angels club (45-72) that's 20-38 on the road with an -11.5 unit loss this season β€” market implied probability at these prices is only ~60%, leaving real daylight. Multiple independent handicappers (ActionNetwork, CappersPicks) independently land on Miami ML as their pick, and the underlying process factors line up too: Miami is hitting .252/.330 at home, LA is scuffling to .250/.325 on the road, and Miami's bullpen has been sharp at home while the Angels' pen has been shaky away from Anaheim. Ryan Gusto (LAA) actually owns a lower ERA on paper than Grayson Rodriguez, but Rodriguez's better peripherals (19.7% K rate vs. 17.9%, tighter walk rate) and the park/bullpen edges tip this clearly to Miami. Highest-confidence play of the day β€” Max-EV and Max-Hit-Rate converge here.

2. Giants ML (+102, 2.02 decimal). San Francisco is the model's biggest square-off against market pricing on the day: numberFire has the Giants winning 55.4% of the time as home dogs, well above the ~49-50% implied by a near-even moneyline. Logan Webb has been outstanding lately (2 earned runs allowed over his last 12 innings) and has owned Detroit historically (all three of his prior starts against the Tigers went under, 7 of the last 10 head-to-head meetings stayed under too) β€” that's also why several outlets are leaning Under on the game total, though I didn't have a tight enough total-line read to size that bet with confidence. Troy Melton has quietly been effective as well (no earned runs in 4 of his last 6 starts), so this reads as a legitimate home-dog spot at plus money rather than a script-chasing longshot.

3. Braves/Yankees Total Under 8.5 (-120, 1.83 decimal). This is a pitcher's duel on paper β€” Grant Holmes carries a 2.52 ERA over his last eight outings fresh off a scoreless 6-inning start, and Cam Schlittler is running a 2.78 ERA over his last six with a bullpen behind him that's second-lowest in MLB in ERA (3.15). The Yankees are also missing three of their biggest bats (Judge, Bellinger, Stanton), which caps the offense further. I'm using the Under here specifically instead of a Yankees ML play β€” the standing Yankees tilt-fade rule stays in effect regardless of how good Schlittler's number looks, and the pitching-driven Under gives a way to lean into the matchup quality without touching the ML.

4. Rangers ML (-134, 1.75 decimal). numberFire likes Texas at home 62.0% of the time against a middling Orioles club, well clear of the ~57% implied by the current price. This is a "prefer the favorite with real juice behind it" spot rather than a squeaker β€” good combination of edge and hit rate, and it converges across both lenses.

5. Phillies ML (-200, 1.50 decimal). This sits right at the floor of the odds band (never go below 1.50 decimal), so it's included specifically as the Max-Hit-Rate play β€” highest probability positive-EV option on the board at 69.4% per numberFire, clear of the market's ~66.7% implied number. Small edge in raw dollar terms given the short price, but the hit-rate protection is exactly what this slot in the two-lens framework is for. JesΓΊs Luzardo (TOR) has been shakier than Shane Bieber for a Phillies team playing meaningfully better ball at home (62-56 vs. Toronto's 56-62).

Passes worth flagging: Guardians/White Sox had conflicting favorite data between books (FanDuel had it a coin flip at -110/-106, another source had Guardians -126 favorites with a -1.5 spread) β€” skipping rather than betting into disagreeing models. Rays/Mariners is a similar story (numberFire slightly favors Tampa Bay, other models slightly favor Seattle) β€” true coin flip, no edge. Twins ML at Milwaukee has a real model edge (+200 vs. 35.8% true win probability) but the hit rate is too low on its own to carry a slot given four stronger options were available today.
