Section 3: My Recommendations

# Option Lens Est. Odds Hit Rate EV
1 Chase Burns (CIN) Over 7.5 Ks Max-EV 1.91 60% +$3.32
2 Rays -1.5 (TOR @ TB) Max-EV 1.87 58% +$1.92
3 Yankees/Orioles Over 8.5 (total) Balanced 1.95 54% +$1.20
4 Brewers ML (SEA @ MIL) Max-Hit-Rate 1.81 58% +$1.13
5 Giants/Guardians Over 7 (total) Balanced 1.95 54% +$1.20

Section 4: Reasoning

1. Chase Burns Over 7.5 Strikeouts (STL @ CIN) β€” Max-EV, β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… EV

This is the clear marquee edge on the slate. Burns is 14-2 with a 2.47 ERA and 151 strikeouts in 131 innings β€” a K rate north of 10 per nine. His slider generates a 49.3% whiff rate at 90+ mph and holds hitters to a .195 xwOBA, an elite swing-and-miss weapon. He draws a Cardinals lineup that isn't a swing-and-miss unit overall, but individual matchups (e.g., Jordan Walker's 25% strikeout rate, 28.9% whiff rate) support the over. Liberatore on the other side (5.07 ERA) gives Cincinnati little incentive to play the game close or pull Burns early. Risk: a short defensive game or an early hook if Cincinnati builds a big lead. Still, the gap between market pricing and Burns's current form is the largest edge on the board β€” this ranks #1 by a wide margin on both EV and conviction.

2. Rays -1.5 Run Line (TOR @ TB) β€” Max-EV, β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… EV

Drew Rasmussen (12-5, 2.78 ERA, 133 K) starts opposite a clearly declined Max Scherzer (1-5, 6.59 ERA), one of the widest pitching-quality gaps on the slate. Tampa Bay is also playing well overall (model gives them ~70% ML win confidence). The straight Rays ML is too short to clear the odds band (-210, 1.48 decimal), so the run line captures the same directional edge with a payout that clears the 1.50 floor. Risk: Scherzer has had flashes of his old form in individual starts, and Tampa's offense needs to actually produce the extra run of cushion. Still, the ERA gap alone (nearly 4 runs) supports the lay.

3. Yankees/Orioles Over 8.5 (Total) β€” Balanced, β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… EV

Both Will Warren (4.42 ERA) and Chris Bassitt (5.11 ERA) have been shaky the last month, and neither profile suggests a low-scoring pitchers' duel. Note: the standing Yankees tilt-fade rule keeps ML and spread off the board for this game, but the total is a venue/pitching-quality read independent of which team wins, so it isn't subject to that restriction. Risk: Camden Yards can play a bit pitcher-friendly at night; if either bullpen locks things down late this could push toward the under.

4. Brewers ML (SEA @ MIL) β€” Max-Hit-Rate, β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… EV

Milwaukee has the best record in baseball (78-48) and is at home against a middling Mariners club. Logan Gilbert is a quality arm for Seattle, but Dustin May (4.13 ERA) at home for a red-hot Brewers team still gives Milwaukee the edge. This is the highest-hit-rate play in the portfolio (58%) with still-positive EV (+$1.13), making it the psychological anchor for the day β€” a play built to win, not just to have edge.

5. Giants/Guardians Over 7 (Total) β€” Balanced, β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… EV

Matt Wilkinson is making his MLB debut for San Francisco opposite Parker Messick (2.59 ERA, strong form) for Cleveland. Debut starters carry real uncertainty β€” command is the biggest unknown in a first big-league outing, and Cleveland's lineup at home could capitalize early. The relatively low total (7) leaves room for the over even with Messick pitching well on the other side. Risk: if Wilkinson settles in, this total could play under; this is the most speculative of the five picks, but the debut-start volatility skews toward extra runs more often than not.
